I’ve had this TV for five days now. I’ve spent almost all of these days cruising around the HD Tier of my local cable company. As far as the image goes, it is merely beautiful. I’ve done a massive amount of tinkering with the settings. Not as I will be in a position to’t get the combination which I like, but for the explanation that I simply felt favor playing round with it and comparing the diverse configurations. Do yourself a favor plus make sure the first factor which you do is amendment the mode from “Vivid” to one thing else. “Vivid” is a factory default and the majority of doubtless set which way to boost the attraction level for the showroom.
I started out by just using the calibration settings from http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com for the TH-50PX60U:
Picture Mode Customary
Image +22
Brightness +8
Color -1
Tint -4
Sharpness -14
Color Temperature Heat
Here gave the image a warmer, added realistic feel right off the bat. Skin tones were far extra realistic when calibrating to here settings. The TH-50PX75U is, for each one intents plus functions, the same TV because the TH-50PX60U from last year with the former having a few extra features.
I also set to play around with the “Custom” mode plus use the higher than settings as beginning points. I set to adhere with the above settings for the time of year being as I locate them a good amount of pleasing to the eye. Overall, the black levels appear very sensible showing detail during the dark areas as well and the overall color is vivid. The picture appearance awfully crisp plus you buy that “realism” issue that I even have essentially purely felt whereas researching plasmas and LCDs. Other technologies of HDTVs have not given me which “realism” feel.
In November 2006 I went cheap plus entered the world of HDTV with an Insignia 32-in., 720P, LCD screen from Best Get together with upgrading to DirecTV’s 1080i package. My first reaction was, “This is good”, but not as in “niiiiiiccccce!” Four months later the Insignia’s screen starts to act-up, and so’s after I say to myself, “Let’s do it right this time.”
My wife and I were watching several Hi-Def shows last night and could not keep from saying “Wow!” regarding each 20 minutes. Even with just relying on the TV’s speakers it felt like we have a bent to were there. Played around with the colors, brightness, etc, at that was simple enough with the on-screen interface. The couch is regarding one hundred ten” from the TV, so the 50″ screen was an excellent size. Wouldn’t want to go larger, but glad we did not get the forty-two”.
Even glad I spent the additional $four hundred plus got the 2007 model that’s each one black instead of the 2006 model which had silver trim. The Insignia had silver trim, therefore naturally I currently equate silver trim to “cheap”.
Because I don’t consider myself an audio/video aficionado, I didn’t hesitate to pay money now on a 720p system instead of waiting or spending added on a 1080p system. I’m a splash worried concerning screen burn-in, but if this may last beyond five years then I will be awfully happy.
